Renegades win SL i

Renegades have won SL i-League Invitational Shanghai 2017 after beating Virtus.pro 2-0 in the grand final (16-8 on Mirage and 16-10 on Train).

The grand final started on Mirage where the Polish team were on the CT-side in the first half. Janusz "⁠Snax⁠" Pogorzelski's triple kill in the pistol round gave the lead to Virtus.pro and the Poles went on to pick up the anti-ecos to lead 3-0.

Renegades hit back in the first weapon round by winning a 3vs4 and later tied the game at 3-3. Justin "⁠jks⁠" Savage & company were in control for the rest of the half and led 9-6 at halftime.

Renegades became the champions in Shanghai

Virtus.pro grabbed the pistol round victory on the T-side but they couldn't go on to tie the game as they lost the third round of the half. Renegades put on an impressive CT-side performance and won seven rounds in a row to win the map 16-8.

Train kicked off with Renegades on the T-side. Aaron "⁠AZR⁠" Ward's team won the first three rounds but lost the fourth one (3-1). Noah "⁠Nifty⁠" Francis clutched a 1vs2 to respond and later Karlo "⁠USTILO⁠" Pivac clutched a 1vs3 to extend his team's lead to 6-1.

Virtus.pro have lost back-to-back grand finals

Just when Virtus.pro were mounting a comeback (7-5), Nifty got a quad kill to give Renegades their eighth round. USTILO's quad kill in the fifteenth round made it 10-5 in favor of Renegades at halftime.

USTILO & company won the first three rounds in the second half to make it 13-5 but Virtus.pro replied in the first weapon round (13-6). Virtus.pro couldn't get close to Renegades even though the Poles won five rounds in a row. Renegades won the map 16-10 and the series 2-0 to become the SL i-League Invitational Shanghai champions.
